Career Path: Started working at Presort Plus in 1990 as a mail handler, after one year was promoted to Driver Supervisor. In 1992, became supervisor of the Lettershop Department. In 1997 I was promoted to general manager, and then in January of 2008 became president of Presort Plus LLC.

Mentors: My father Ron Bauman and good friend Joe Schaff have given me guidance and valuable advice throughout the years.

What motivates you? Adversity and problem solving.

Challenges in your career path: Adapting to the changing regulations in the mail industry.

What challenges do you face as a young professional, particularly during difficult economic times? Trying to keep a competitive edge and still offer a value service.

What’s the biggest risk you’ve ever taken? I don’t consider myself to be a risk taker, but if I had to list one thing… it would be purchasing my first official herd of cattle.

Anything you’re particularly proud of? My staff and the family atmosphere at Presort Plus.

What advice would you offer other young professionals? My advice to young professionals is to work hard and surround yourself with good people.

What are you thankful for? The health and happiness of my family and friends.

What do you see yourself doing in 10 years? Ten years from now, I would like to be doing the very same things I am doing today.
